Mytilana Village

Lesvos Scuba Center

If you're going to dive while visiting Lesvos, this is the place for you! George Filios and his friendly, helpful staff will do everything they can to make sure you have a great diving experience. Besides their dive boat (right), they also have a fully-stocked dive shop, conveniently located in downtown Mytilene, to accommodate all your diving needs. Full equipment rentals available, as well.

Martano Pizza (sorry, no website)

This is probably the best pizza we have ever eaten (except for one from Helen's childhood that no longer exists.) This is a family owned and operated restaurant, with two convenient locations in Mytilene, so there's always some great pizza nearby. All of their crusts are hand-tossed (pictured below) and the pizzas are baked in a wood-fired oven. Owners Taxiarchis (pictured at right), Dimitra and Tassos have put together a scrumptuous array of pizzas, using a wide variety of fresh, tasty ingredients that will have you coming back for more...and more...and more!

Greece Taxi

When we're on the mainland, we rely on Greece Taxi to get us where we want to go. They pick us up at (and take us back to) the airport, they take us on private tours, and they transport us between hotels, if that's what we need. The staff is very polite, friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the history of this magnificent and ancient country. (It makes a world of difference when you know something about the antiquities you're seeing.) Their limos and vans are clean, air-conditioned and well-maintained. When we're on the island of Lesvos, we always rent our cars from Lesvos Car. They are a family-owned business and are very eco-conscious. The cars are clean and dent-free.
